Volunteers Needed: Help Us Dig Invasive Yellow Flag Iris

Yellow Flag Iris in Bloom
Yellow Flag Iris in Bloom

We're looking for volunteers to help us dig Yellow Flag Iris (YFI) at Pat's Preserve on Tuesday, June 17th at 11am.

Invasive species have the potential to substantially alter a local ecosystem, so we make every effort to eradicate them when found. YFI is a fast-spreading and poisonous wetland plant that forms impenetrable thickets that out-compete native plants.

Please contact our lake biologist, Kelsey, to sign up and get more information at 616-293-7525.

Thank you for asking. Volunteers can choose how long they wish to stay, but you might want to plan to be there at least an hour. You can call or text Kelsey for more information!
